About the event
In this Artisan Soap Making Class, owners Kevin and Michael Douglas-Smith will explain and demonstrate the basic chemistry, safety precautions and materials used when making cold process soap from scratch. You will then create and pour (under a controlled environment) cold-process soap batter, customize it with natural colorants and decorate it with special textures and/or botanicals. In this class we will use lavender essential oil. You may add one other essential to make a blend or leave the bar unscented. Handcrafted soap has to harden for 24 hours; so before you take them home, you can either come back in 1-2 days to slice your 4 bars of soap or we can slice your soap for you to pick up at the store. We can also slice your soap and ship them to you. Price of the class does not include shipping.

Lavender Soap Making Class
This ticket includes admission for one person to a handcrafted artisan soap making class. Class includes a brief overview of the chemistry, safety and process of handcrafted soap making. Attendees will make 2 pounds of cold process soap using the provided materials, safety gear and ingredients. A handout with suggestions for curing, and packaging your soap will be provided at pick up.
